"Which Author"

“Which Author?”
Two books sat on a library shelf.
At that point I didn’t know what to do with myself.
Dr. Seuss or Edgar Allan Poe?
Dr. Seuss was from my childhood so I leaned toward it.
But I quickly stopped myself to think what Poe can offer.
So many kids left this book just laying there...
because it had so much to read, I guess no one cared
Dr. Seuss does look quite enjoyable.
I am so befuddled, to choose I am not able.
Edgar Allan Poe intrigued me,
because I wanted something unfamiliar & new
I knew it might be boring,
even a slow read.
Two books sat on a library shelf,
and I choose Poe.
It felt in my mind,
that it was the right way to go.
